Alright y’all, so this fly motherfucker is Dan Smith. He’s the lead singer of Bastille and he’s basically a musical genius/God (the two are interchangeable really).
If you don’t know about Bastille, you should.
They have one studio album, Bad Blood, which went number 1 in the UK. It’s the best thing you’ve ever listened to in your life. You can get the extended cut [HERE]
But, before they put out Bad Blood, they made two mixtapes. These include really awesome remix/cover/mashup things. That’s not eloquent, but basically they’re amazing and you should download them and listen to them.
Grab Other People’s Heartache [HERE]
and Other People’s Heartache pt. 2 [HERE]
Those are two mixtapes of awesome that include  really cool cover-mashups of No Scrubs, Sweet Nothing and Dreams (Fleetwood Mac).
And [HERE] you can download their Live at Koko EP. It’s brill. Go for it.
The best part is, they’re even great (maybe better) acoustically. For proof of that have
Pompeii Mahogany Session [x]
and Overjoyed a capella [x] (watch the video for this [HERE]
You should also download their demo of Haunt because it’s perfect just like everything else. Grab that [HERE]
Now I want you to watch them sing Flaws in their van because a) it’s my favourite video ever and b) it’s just straight up amazing. So do that [x]
And then Overjoyed under a bridge, because who even fucking does that? [x]
You should also note that they got invited to the British Museum to view their Pompeii exhibit, because, as they said “the serendipity feels too fitting to ignore.” Then they performed Pompeii. In the British Museum. I just. It’s incredible. Watch that [HERE]
And [HERE] is their youtube channel in case you’re too lazy to search it yourself. Its fine. Links are easier anyways. I get it.
And their Vevo is [HERE]
So go forth my children. Download Bastille. Enjoy Bastille. Fall in love with Bastille.
Just embrace Bastille.
(if any of the links don’t work, please tell me and I will fix them)
